The vela is the rest wall (paratia) against which cured meat or cheese is placed and pressed during cutting, mounted on the slicer's food carriage. This spare part (ref. 055) is specific to the RGV Ausonia 220 slicer (also known as Mary Silver 220/221, and fitted to Bomann and Keiros rebadged units).

The vela guides the product against the blade as the carriage travels and can be adjusted to suit pieces of different thickness; it is the part that moves back and forth with the carriage on every cut.
