The bronze gear TC/TG 12/22 is a reduction gear for meat grinder and meat grinder-grater units in size 12 and 22 (TC/TG 12/22 designation, typical of professional grinding units of this size widely used on the Italian market). Bronze is the material traditionally used for the gear that meshes with the worm screw of the gearbox, as it provides smoother running and less wear compared to direct steel-on-steel contact.

With use, the teeth of the bronze gear gradually wear down: typical symptoms are abnormal noise during grinding, excessive play in the transmission and a drop in power/torque on the meat grinder unit. In these cases the gear must be replaced to restore correct operation of the gearbox.
