The gear transfers motion from the motor to the blade hub. The shock-dampers are cushioning rubber inserts housed in the dedicated 6 mm seats that absorb jerks and start-up vibrations, protecting both the gear teeth and the gearmotor from torque shocks during use. This is the part to replace when the teeth are worn, chipped or rounded, when the damper inserts are hardened or disintegrated and no longer cushion impacts, or when the blade turns jerkily or does not turn at all despite the motor running.
