This is the impeller that fits onto the shaft of the pentavalent fan motor, the universal ventilation motor used on professional refrigerators, refrigerated counters and cabinets, display cases, evaporators and condensing units. The fan generates the airflow that distributes cold air inside the cell or removes heat from the condenser: an intact, balanced fan blade is essential to hold the operating temperature and avoid overworking the compressor.

When to replace it: broken, cracked or deformed blades, damaged hub slipping on the motor shaft, vibration and noise while running, reduced airflow leading to ice on the evaporator or set temperatures no longer being reached. Replacing only the fan blade, while the motor is still sound, is the quickest and cheapest repair to restore proper ventilation.
