Wega filter basket for espresso coffee machines, single-dose ("1 dose") version, code 3.026.053.

• Brand: Wega
• Type: single-dose filter basket
• Compatibility: Wega coffee machine portafilters

This is the perforated basket that fits inside the machine's portafilter: it holds the dose of ground coffee and, thanks to its calibrated holes, regulates extraction as pressurised water passes through. It should be replaced when the holes become clogged with coffee residue or deformed, or when the inner surface is damaged, as this makes extraction uneven and results in a weak or over-extracted cup. Being a single-dose basket, it is sized for brewing one cup at a time.
