A toroidal transformer steps down mains voltage to the level needed to power electronic boards, control units, solenoid valves and other low-voltage circuits in professional machines. Compared to traditional laminated-core transformers, the toroidal core gives lower losses, a smaller footprint and quieter operation.

Replacement is needed in the presence of abnormal humming, overheating, unstable or missing output voltage, or when the machine fails to power on or loses power to its controls.
